Pet Friendly Hotel Austin, TX | Red Roof Inn Review

Traveling is a huge part of my life, it always has been. Being a dog parent, it’s definitely hard having to leave Bruno, my 12 years old husky mix, behind. Now, we try to take as many road trips as possible so we can bring our fur-baby. He as seen so much of The States! It’s always better when we travel together as a family.

We where recently invited on a staycation at Red Roof Plus+, part of the Red Roof Inn family, right here in Austin, Texas. First thing’s first, are they dog friendly?

Dog Friendly

Looking for an affordable, pet friendly hotel, is one of the first things we do when deciding on where to travel. Little did we know Red Roof Inn is extremely dog friendly. Pets even stay free at anyone of their 650 locations (pet policy may vary at some HomeTowne Studio by Red Roof Inn locations). This is a big struggle we run into at other hotels. We are usually charged a $75-$100 non-refundable pet fee.

We received a warm greeting on arrival. Bruno was loving all the head rubs from the lovely staff. Check-in was extremely easy. Sandy and Tammy were the absolute sweetest and made sure we had everything we needed. Red Roof Inn really goes above and beyond to make sure you and everyone in your family feels welcomed. Even four-legged family members.

The Hotel

The premium room was more than enough space for us. You can find a list of their amenities here. We always look for something that’s bigger than a standard 400 sqft room so Bruno has plenty of room and feels as home. Inside, the room had a mini fridge, microwave area, a seating area and a separate bedroom with bathroom divided by French doors.

Once we were situated and Bruno was napping, we changed and went downstairs to enjoy the pool for a bit before ordering food from a delivery service. The bed was very comfortable, which I am usually so particular about.

Location

While we didn’t venture out, this Red Roof Plus+ is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Austin, SOCO and the airport. I actually prefer staying in a hotel just outside of the downtown area since I am such a light sleeper. This hotel was very quiet.

From now on, we are adding Red Roof Inn to our list of budget and pet friendly hotels. What do you look for when booking a hotel? Thank you to Red Roof Inn for hosting our stay!

XO, Em
