Traveling with your dog can be so much fun but also so much work. They are part of the family and deserve to come along! We have taken our pup, Bruno, on so many road trips. He’s been to Oklahoma, New Mexico, California, Arizona, Nevada, Tennessee, Virginia, DC, New York, Colorado just to name a few states. We are currently visiting Florida with him.

With summer in full swing, I wanted to share five travel trips, in case you are traveling with your pet!

Create a safe and comfortable space in the vehicle for your pet.

Bruno likes a lot of room. We usually designate the entire back seat to him. He’s a bigger dog so he needs the space. If you have a smaller dog, a car seat might be better for them. There are also seat belts for dogs to ensure they are safe.

Bring plenty of food and water.

We always measure out his food and bring a little extra just in case we stay longer. Water is a must, for both you and your pet!

Don’t leave the supplements behind.

Research pet friendly places to visit.

Pet friendly parks are a great way to get your pup active after a long car ride. We also like looking up pet friendly restaurants and beaches.

Bring familiar items from home.

Packing things like their dog bed, food bowls, blanket or favorite toys can help get them use to their new environment. Setting down Bruno’s food and water bowls help him to his was around our hotel room or rental house.
