Spring/Summer Skincare Routine

Hi Babes! I have invested a lot of time in my skin over the past four years. I hope that whether your dealing with dry or oily skin, acne or just want to try out new products, my routine can help out.

About My Skin

Growing up my skin was oily. Super oily but clear, I never had acne. One month after I turned 28, I used the Clarisonic and my skin broke out. All over the left side of my face and along my jaw/chin. I was so heart broken. Not even when I was a teenager did I have these issues. I tried different products, 3 step solutions, exfoliating, extracting. Nothing seemed to help. I think I was irritating my skin more than anything. My skin also became EXTREMELY DRY once I turned 30. I get flaky skin around my mouth (serum helps combat this). Now, at 32, I have found a routine that work for me.

Cleanser

Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser – I love using this to remove my makeup, followed by a second cleanser. It even removes water proof mascara. I also use this when my skin is feeling extra dry – no second cleanser, I just remove with a warm wash cloth. Good for all skin types.

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser – After my oil cleanser or when my face looks a bit dull, I use this product. This is a super gentle exfoliating cleanser that buffs away any build up. Good for all skin types (sensitive skin types – test it on a small area first).

Other Cleanser Recommendations

Nourish Organic Face Cleanser – This is what I used before Tata Harper calmed my skin down. My skin was starting to become dry (because of my age or hormones), this is when I discovered oil cleansers.

Belif Problem Solution Cleansing Foam – I wanted something gentle for my acne. I reach for this cleansing foam in the mornings when I want to wash way excess oils.

Toner & Serums

Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence – Leaves my skin feeling hydrated and preps it for serums and lotions. I love that this has no artificial fragrance. If you have any other toner recommendations, please leave them in the comments.

Avene Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum – COMPLETE GAME CHANGER. When my skin became dry to the point where it was always flaky, my aesthetician recommended this little guy. I never thought to use serum until I used this product. Good for dehydrated skin.

Savor Beauty Nourishing Raspberry Seed Serum – I started using this when I ran out of Avene. This leaves my skin so soft and PLUMP! I was sent this product to review BUT all opinions are my own. Good for dry or mature skin.

Lotions & Oils

Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer – Very light weight, yet hydrating moisturizer. Good for dry skin.

Tata Harper Retinoic Face Oil – There’s something about Rose Hip oil that agrees with my skin. I use this at night – wash my face and apply this oil, that’s it. For a more affordable option try Nourish Organic Replenishing oil, I used this one before the Tata Harper oil.

Eye Cream

Savor Beauty Caviar Eye Cream – I’ve never really been into eye creams (although I should be). This leaves my under eye areas hydrated without being slippery. Once it dries down, it will not mess up your makeup. This product was also sent to me but all options are my own.

Essentials

If you’re thinking “I do NOT have time for all that”, I get it. If I had to condense this routine down to only a few items, I would recommend a cleanser, serum, lotion and eye cream. One thing I also have not mentioned but use everyday of my life is SUNSCREEN!! But I could do a whole blog post dedicated to that. I also love sheet masks.

I hope you found this helpful. If you have questions or need recommendations for your specific skin type, please let me know in the comments below. Thank you for taking time out of your day to spend it here with me. Please subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already.
